Howdy From Montana!

Greetings everyone! This is Pastor Bruce Inion Sr.- solo pastor of Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Plevna, Montana. I have been the pastor here since August of 1999. I have three great kids (BJ- 9, Angel-6, Ellie-2) and a wonderful wife who has been my soul mate, wife and partner for the last ten years (been together since we were 17).

And .... This is the blog of Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church.

I set up this blog to update you to primarily update you all on our upcoming missions trip to Honduras, but also to let you know what God has in store for us here in Plevna. We are a town of 131 people in a county of under 3500. But I have always felt that God has used the "little guys" in the program of his kingdom to accomplish his purposes. God used a lowly shepherd to lead the kingdom of Israel. A 12-14 year old girl to bear the son of God. He often uses the weak to confound the strong. And I am thoroughly convinced that some great things will come out of God's people here in our corner of eastern Montana!

This evening we had a meeting to do some planning for our upcoming trip. We have a great group of 13 Guys and gals headed down to Honduras on January 31st to February 6th. We have 13 great people representing 4 different churches.
Here are some of the activities we will be doing that week...
Our mission is to go to escuela el sembrador (the school of the sower) (check it out at- www.escuelaelsembrador.org) and help with construction and maintenance of their facilities and grounds. We will also be goin to AFE (amor, fe, y vida)(spanish for love, faith and life) a project which is the ministry at the Tegucigalpa dump area. About 1,000 people actually live in the city dump- and our mission is to bring hope and the gospel to those who know the true depth of poverty. We will be remodeling the old boys dorm at El sembrador. We will have some painting the inside, some electrical and building work as well.
Here is a run down of activities:
* The main project will be painting the new dorm rooms and ceilings.
* 1 afternoon VBS in the village of LaPaz
* 1 afternoon VBS in the village of El Espino
* One Saturday will be an outing to a restaurant that has zip line, horseback riding, ox cart riding, etc
* One evening will be spent with the boys listening to testimonies
* Three evenings different missionaries will share in their homes or at dinner (their testimonies)
* Most evenings will be spent playing sports with the boys or cheering them on.
* The guys are also interested in getting involved with some of the agricultural and farming aspects of the school as well.
We are excited about the amazing opportunites and things God has in store in the future!
Please pray for God's provision, his safety and most of all that people's lives would be touched by all that is said and done for Him.

And hey... if you have a calendar handy, mark on it to come to church on December 21st at 10:30. We are showing a portion of the movie "The Bethlehem Star" (www.bethlehemstar.net). It shows through computers and science we can rewind the clock to the actual date of Christ's birth and see the same night sky the wise men saw 2000 years ago. It is an eciting way to see how God orchestrated the events of Christmas, the crucifixion and His word ever since God created the universe.
Also- mark Christmas eve at 6- we have our annual Christmas eve program.
